2. calculated dehydration alerts for moderate and high risk residents for August

1. nutritional assessments
2. initial screening/assessment (interviewed new admit, got weight and height, and did calculations)
3. looked at labs
4. quarterly assessments for resident with skin issues

Acute Care
Hours: 27 hours With: Deb Siegert, RD, Food and Nutrition Manager and Christin Baker, RD, CDN What I did: 1. helped pick up patient menus 2. filled out nutrition screenings on new patients 3. helped with designing new heart healthy diet Internship Experience
Hours: 676 hours With: Deb Siegert, MSEd, RDN, CDN, Alexi Clinton, RDN, CDN, and Cristin Baker, RDN, CDN What I did:completed 676 clinical rotation hours in diabetes, obesity, acute/chronic heart disease, med/surg, oncology, critical care, and staff relief: collected patient information from MEDITECH, went to healthcare team meetings, collected patient information from patients independently, educated/counseled patients independently, documented initial and follow-up nutritional assessments; and will complete 240 hours in hospital food service.
When: June 2014 - Feb. 2015 Hours: 160 hours (will complete by Feb. 2015) With: Becky Ireland-Perry, 4-H Coordinator What I did: Will complete 160 supervised practice hours in the community setting and develop a community health intervention project related to cooking with kids in the McGraw school district. |
